Sell your food online without the marketplace markup
Artisan bakers, preserve makers, chocolate producers, coffee roasters — your products deserve their own shop, not a listing buried on a marketplace. Haul gives you a beautiful online store from £15/mo with zero transaction fees.
Sound familiar?
If you’re selling on marketplaces or social media, you’re probably running into the same frustrations every food seller faces.
Marketplace fees eat your margins
Food margins are tight enough already. Marketplace listing fees, commission, and promoted placement costs chip away at every sale. On Haul, you pay zero transaction fees — just a flat £15/mo.
You can’t tell your brand story
Marketplaces give you a product listing, not a brand. Customers can’t learn about your process, your ingredients, or why you started. Your own shop lets you share the story behind every jar, bag, and box.
Limited product descriptions
Ingredient lists, allergen warnings, storage instructions, tasting notes — food products need more detail than most. Marketplace templates don’t give you the space or formatting to do this properly.
No recurring customer relationships
On a marketplace, the customer belongs to the platform, not you. You can’t build an email list, offer loyalty discounts, or encourage repeat orders. Your own shop means your own customer base.
Everything a food business needs online
All included on the £15/mo Starter plan. No paid apps, no add-ons, no surprises.
Detailed product pages
Rich text descriptions with plenty of room for ingredients, allergen information, storage instructions, and tasting notes. Add multiple product images to show packaging, contents, and serving suggestions.
Weight-based shipping
Set shipping rates by weight and destination — essential when you’re posting jars of jam, bags of coffee, or hamper boxes. Supports UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Collections and gift hampers
Organise products into collections — seasonal ranges, gift hampers, tasting sets, or bestsellers. Each collection gets its own page with a custom description and SEO.
Discount codes
Create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes for launches, seasonal promotions, or loyal customers. Track how many times each code has been used.
Customer reviews
Let customers leave reviews on your products — social proof is especially powerful for food, where people want to know how things taste before they order. Built in, no paid app needed.
CMS pages for your story
Create pages for your brand story, sourcing philosophy, meet the maker, or how your products are made. A rich text editor makes it easy — no code needed.

Frequently asked questions
Can I list allergen information on my products?
Yes. Each product has a rich text description field where you can list ingredients, allergens, and any other details. You can also create a dedicated allergen information page using the built-in CMS — useful for linking from every product or adding to your site footer.
Can I sell subscription or recurring orders?
Not yet — recurring billing is on our roadmap but isn’t available today. For now, many food sellers use discount codes to encourage repeat orders, and the customer review system helps build trust with new buyers. We’ll update you as soon as subscriptions are ready.
Can I add delivery notes for perishable items?
Yes. You can include storage and handling instructions in product descriptions, and create a dedicated delivery policy page using the CMS. Customers see your policies before checkout. You can also use the custom text field on products to let customers add a delivery date preference or special instructions.
Can I set minimum order values?
Minimum order values aren’t built in as a hard rule yet, but you can use shipping rates strategically — for example, offering free delivery over a certain amount to encourage larger orders. A formal minimum order feature is something we’re considering for a future update.
Does Haul handle food safety compliance?
Haul is a shop platform, not a regulatory tool — food safety compliance is your responsibility. But we give you the tools to display the right information: CMS pages for policies, rich product descriptions for ingredients and allergens, and a terms of sale page. We don’t restrict what you can publish.
